FAQS

1 How does black rice taste compared to regular rice?

Black rice has a nutty, earthy flavor with a slightly sweet undertone, which makes it richer in taste compared to regular white rice. Its texture is more chewy and dense similar to brown rice, but with a unique aroma and a natural hint of sweetness. When cooked, it also gives a beautiful deep purple hue, making dishes not only healthier but also visually appealing.

2 Can black rice help in weight loss?

Yes, black rice can help in weight loss because it is rich in fiber and protein, which keeps you fuller for longer and reduces unhealthy snacking. Its low glycemic index helps control blood sugar spikes, making it suitable for weight management and overall metabolic health. Since it is nutrient-dense and provides sustained energy, black rice is a healthier alternative to refined grains when aiming for weight loss.

3 How do I cook organic black rice properly

Rinse the rice – Wash 1 cup of black rice thoroughly under running water to remove excess starch.
Soak (optional) – Soak it for 30 minutes to 1 hour for softer texture and quicker cooking.
Water ratio– Use about 2 ½ cups of water for every 1 cup of black rice.
Cooking – In a pot, bring the water and rice to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and let it simmer for 30–35 minutes until the grains are tender and water is absorbed.
Rest– Turn off the heat and let it sit covered for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Fluff & serve – Use a fork to fluff the rice and enjoy it with curries, vegetables, or as a base for salads and bowls.
