In the budget, a provision of 1.52 lakh crore rupees has been made for farmers and the agriculture sector. Plans will be formulated for agriculture and related sectors from this fund. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “32 new varieties of crops and horticulture crops with 109 new high-yielding and climate-resilient varieties will be released for farming. Over the next 2 years, 1 crore farmers will be integrated into certified and branded natural farming.”
This allocation highlights the government’s focus on enhancing Indian agriculture through sustainable practices and technological advancements. The introduction of new crop varieties and support for natural farming initiatives aim to increase productivity, boost farmers’ incomes, and ensure environmental sustainability.
